On this clip, Dr. Hodges’ child patients talk about their orthodontic care experience. Amelia, Erin and Nile are very happy with their smile. Amelia came to Dr. Hodges to fix her crooked teeth. About six months of wearing braces, Amelia has noticed so much improvement in her bite and her smile and cannot wait to show off her new, beautiful smile to anyone when she has her braces off.

Amelia: “My name is Amelia and I got braces at Dr. Hodges. I’ve had them on for about six months. Dr. Hodges and staff are really kind, and they’re always nice, and they make me feel welcome when I come in. The reason I went to Dr. Hodges was because my teeth were really crooked and they didn’t look good in my school pictures. I wasn’t confident to show my smile, and whenever I was talking to someone I’d just smile with my mouth closed. I’ve had the braces on for about six months and I’ve noticed when I’m eating, it’s so much easier to chew. In my daily life, I’m not afraid to smile anymore. I was surprised by how fast everything happened, because I was expecting it to be a slow, gradual change, but it’s been really fast. Good results. Over half my grade has them, so it’s not really a big deal. It’s not the gigantic headset it used to be. I barely notice them anymore because they’re really comfortable. When the braces come off, I look forward to just being able to show my smile and for everyone to see how beautiful my teeth are.
Erin: “I was glad I did it, because I didn’t want my teeth to stay bad forever. I want them to stay nice so I won’t have to go through this stuff when I’m older.”
Nile: “I’m very happy to go through this, and when I get them off in Christmas, I’ll be eating candy canes galore. The fist thing I’m going to eat is a big pack of Bubble Yum. A big pack. Stuff it all in my mouth. That’s what I plan to do.”
